Between January 21 and 22, 2020, we had the opportunity to participate in a study visit to Studio Barrandov in the Czech Republic organized by the Wroclaw Film Commission and the Lower Silesian Film Center. During the visit, we took part in the meeting at the Polish Institute in Prague with representatives of the Czech regional film funds, the Czech Film Fund and the Czech Film Commission.
A very nice local accent was the evening meeting at a joint dinner in the restaurant “U Čiriny”, the owner of the restaurant used to be the former cook of Vaclav Havel.
A visit to one of the largest and oldest film studios in Europe Barrandov Studio and a meeting with Petr Tichy (CEO) was very inspiring. We had the opportunity to learn more about the possibilities of cooperation and organising the film shooting there. A visit to film studios, props and costumes magazines as well as film backlots during outdoor shooting fully revealed the possibilities of a Czech studio famous from such films as “Chronicles of Narnia”, “Oliver Twist”, “Jojo Rabbit” and “Underground”.
